Karen Shrader DaSilva, PT, RPT & Founder

I am a graduate of the University of Washington's Physical Therapy Program in 1995. I founded Balance PT in 1998 to create clinic that supports both patients and providers. As a former professional dancer, I apply my understanding of movement to my patients. While using advanced manual therapy, innovative movement techniques, and modern pain science to treat the spine and extremities - I believe in treating the entire patient with respect and compassion.

I enjoy taking the time to listen and piece together the puzzle of my patient's physical problems and barriers to healing. I enjoy the challenge of working with patients with long term, complex issues.

Working for years with a large national corporation, I felt driven to create a physical therapy clinic that could provide personalized quality care, have the flexibility to meet the changing needs of patients, and be an enjoyable environment for both patients and practitioners.

I feel proud to have developed an organization with highly skilled manual therapists who employ the latest advances in research, techniques, and technologies. Returning to the Northwest from New York, I find great joy raising our two sons with my husband John. John is originally from Portugal and has movement in his blood too, as a lifelong soccer enthusiast. I also enjoy working with our youth as a student mentor in the Bellevue Big Picture School internship program.

Member of: American Physical Therapy Association, Physical Therapy Association of WA, Private Practice Special Section and Performing Arts Special Section of APTA, Puget Sound Spine Society, and Integrative Pain Group of Washington.
